Ask Alina

  • A great time for us to start working together is when:

    • You want to make sure your team knows how to respond during an unexpected (and inevitable) storm. Get your team ready to recognize the shift quickly, and effectively change strategy.

    • You see other companies get future-ready (or talk about getting future-ready); you are not sure what exactly they are doing, but you know you need to be ready.

    • Things are going “business as usual”, but you know a big storm is coming, and you want to be ready to respond quickly and effectively.

    • Nothing you know is working, and all bets are off as you are in the middle of the storm. This is a bit too late to prepare; let’s find your bearings, get through the storm, rebuild, and reestablish a “new normal”.

    • Clarity around advancing and strategizing in uncertainty

    • Ability to understand and respond faster and more effectively to turbulent situations

    • Create a common understanding with your team for reorganizing as needed during turbulence

    • Improved ability to read and understand the nuances of your dynamic context any time.

    • Increased flexibility in using sensory-based and intellectual resources.

    • Assessment of strategy fit between your practices and context.

    • Reduced discomfort and overwhelm of being in uncertainty.

  • The situation rapidly deteriorates, the communication channels break down, accurate and timely information is not available, established experts do not have more reliable information than frontline workers, the trust level in established system goes down, familiar protocols and algorithms fail, complexity and speed increase, availability of resources goes down, and the level of stress and trauma for those experiencing the event goes up. These are just some of the things you can expect in extreme context. Your ability to foresee and prepare for it can determine how you, your team, and your company will fare.

  • “Big changes are coming, and I don’t know what to do or how to prepare.” Let’s get ready.

“How do we have a strategic plan if we don’t know how future storms will affect the company?” We can make a plan.

“I am not sure if my organization/team is ready for the storm.” Let’s assess vulnerabilities and strengths in the context of uncertainty as our default environment, and make a plan.

I may not be able to tell you what storm will happen, but I can tell you how it will happen, how it will affect the people and structures in your organization.

Relying on cutting-edge research, we will put a plan in place that allows you to strategize effectively as the storm unfolds.

  • All the topics for my keynote talks and workshops are rooted in cutting-edge empirical research of strategy in extreme context.

    • Nature of uncertainty: why you can never get “through” it, and what to do when nothing you know is working
