Where Are You in 2030?

I would like to invite you to participate in two interesting programs with me:

New Year Strategic Planning Session (1.5 hours): save 25% and for each session (use code MUSIC, purchase by 1/12/20, use by 2/28/20), and I will donate $100 to a Musical Education program at a local public school (jazz band and concert band). What do you want to make happen this year? Let’s figure it out together.

If you could talk to the person you were 10 years ago, in 2010, and tell him/her everything that happened to you since then, what would you say (in addition to “invest in bitcoin”)?

Would your words comfort you-in-2010?

As you’re marking the New Year, what would you say defined your personal last decade?

Family: expanding, losing, new connections?
-Friends: losing, finding, reconnecting?
-Work and business: moving up, shifting down, changing?
-Learning: new skills, interests?
-Geography: travel, relocation?
-Love? Grief? Emotional engagement?
-Personal successes, whatever it means to you?
-Fears realized, fears overcome?
-Hopes actualized? Still work in progress?

Now, let’s try a bit of time travel: if you-in-2030 would come back to you-now, what would this person say to you? What would the you-in-2030 say defined your decade 2020-2030?

Before you ring in the New Year, give yourself a gift of 5 minutes, and Listen. Whatever you attune to, whatever you look for – that’s what you’re heading towards, just like on the road: the car follows your eyes. Of course, there’s a lot of uncertainty about the next 10 years, but what you can control is where you place your attention, because whatever you focus on – expands. And listen.  How many of the things that happened to you since 2010 were actually on your mental map, in soft focus?

In the past 10 years, I left a corporate job, launched a private practice as an executive coach, published a book, expanded our family, found a new location for our Home, started a PhD in Management Science, supported one of our kiddos through two National Championship wins in fencing and two of the kiddos through a coming-of-age journey, took my work on intuition “out of the closet” and straight to business school, reconnected with old friends who meant a lot to me, met and lost and met again amazing friends, made soulful connections, had a privilege to work with incredibly interesting and successful clients, and found new understanding with family… Yes, there were hurricanes (literally), voices raised, and tears shed, but ultimately, I feel it’s the Becoming that has defined me more than the unraveling
