I know you’ve been through a lot this summer. I was privileged to hear many of your collective stories. As a group…
You’ve traveled.
You’ve worked more while your kids were away, and you’ve let go of work because your kids were too much.
You’ve expanded your reach and influence. You’ve let go of things that drained you.
You’ve lost loved ones.
You’ve fallen in love. And out of love.
You’ve gained new clients, and lost some.
You’ve made significant career moves, contemplated having (and not having) children, and have changed shapes of your families.
You’ve weathered natural disasters, and re-lived 9/11 in your memory.
You made resolutions, and cut yourself some slack here and there.
You’ve moved to new houses.
You’ve taken care of people and businesses you love, under difficult circumstances.
You’ve watched the solar eclipse, and you’ve watched what felt like solar eclipse as the moods and lives of people around you have changed..

Even if we didn’t have a chance to exchange stories with you, I know you’ve had quite a summer. How are you?

Now that the summer is coming to an end, what are your plans for the coming year? (Yes, I know you’re reading in Australia and New Zealand, too, and on a completely different calendar!  ) As children start school around this time of the year, they know they’re expected to grow and learn. How do you as an adult set yourself up for continuous growth and learning? How would you like to grow this year? I’d love to know what you’re thinking, if you don’t mind sending me a one-liner (or a longer message, which I would absolutely love).

Here is what was going on with me this summer:

Somewhere between the trips to Niagara Falls and Disney World, my creative/technical collaborators and I did a soft launch of my new website, http://AlinaBas.com . What do you think?

I spent several days at the Garrison Institute, learning from focusing-oriented therapists about presence, pausing, and sensing, and in turn, teaching strategies for introducing these ideas to fast-paced analytical thinkers. The experience made me a deeper, more present coach. Please, ask me more if you are curious, or if you crave more peace and presence in your own life.

I also had a privilege of co-presenting at the Academy of Management Conference in Atlanta as a part of the symposium on Intuition in Organizations. My mentor Dr. Marta Sinclair and I presented innovative strategies for introducing intuition-based tools to analytical thinkers in IT and financial industries. If your organization could use some of this information as well, please, send me a note.

Last, but not least… Within a couple of months, I will be starting a large, exciting and challenging project that will dominate my professional calendar for some time to come. (I’ll tell you more soon, and I hope you’ll be inspired by it as much as I am!) So, if you know that you and I will need to work together in the coming year, or if you want to make sure I’m available for a corporate program you’re planning for your team/company, NOW is a really good time to put your name on my calendar, even if you’d like to do the actual work in Q1 or Q2 of 2018. We can do a quick [free] exploratory call to see what makes sense to you if you’re not sure where to start.

SEEKING STORIES from analytical thinkers who are learning to listen to their intuition in order to make better decisions (call it gut feeling, a vision, an inner voice, a sudden shift of mood or attention, an unexpected sensory cue…). Can you share a story when your body sent you a strong message that shaped a decision you made? How did it work out? I would love to interview you. You can reach me at Alina@AlinaBas.com , and share your story in a nutshell (or a full version). I’ll reach out with additional questions, and possibly to see if we can schedule time for an interview. THANKS!

With love and gratitude,

Alina
